This is a great product. I only use it when I am gone for an extended period of time. I put wet food in one side and set it 4-6 hours in advance, and grain free kibble on the other side. My cat sitter will use this so she doesn't have to stop twice a day; instead she stops once a day and the cat will already have had his treats. At least the cat isn't ravenous and angry by the time she arrives.
I wish that my feeder came with two ice packs instead of one - I am ordering a replacement one today so that the cat sitter can have one on hand in the freezer, and swap out the ice packs when she stops by to feed the cat.
It only runs on one AA battery and when the lid opens it is very quiet, so it doesn't scare the cat. The dishes are easy to remove and clean. I have had no problems with it.

I purchased this cat feeder in preparation for vacation. The week before, I set it up to make sure that it would work while I was away, and my cat broke it in 3 days. The feeder was not sturdy enough to hold up to his efforts to break into the dish. Eventually, the timer broke as well.

I really liked this food timer when I first got it. It was reliable, and I loved the ice pack and the removable dishes. My cat would push it around, but she couldn't get into it. It worked for about 5 months, then the lid just snapped one day out of the blue. Maybe they should use better plastic.
